Not asking for help

There is only one place to begin, and this is with failing to ask for assistance. Help can take many different forms when it comes to moving property. Firstly, it is a good idea to look for a removal company to assist with the move. As parents, you are going to be limited for time on a daily basis as it is without having to manage everything yourself. Search for a moving company near me online and compare quotes. It is also a good idea to ask a family member or close friend if they will look after your children while the removal company is at your old property. This enables you to concentrate on moving all of your things and not having to worry about anything else.

Completely excluding your children altogether

While it is a good idea to get someone to look after your kids during the day of the move, you should not completely exclude your little ones. After all, they are likely to be feeling nervous and anxious. And so it is important that they feel incorporated. You could ask them to pack their favourite toys. As this will make them feel included while also reassuring them that they won’t be leaving anything behind. You can also ask them to choose something for the new house. For example, pick from a few paint colours that you like.

Travelling unprepared

You have done all of the hard work. All of your belongings are boxed up and ready to go. You are in the car and you are about to start your journey. Don’t let yourself down by travelling unprepared. Make sure you have plenty of healthy snacks and your children’s favourite toys to keep them occupied. You should also have an emergency pack for when you get to the house with all of the things your child will need that evening and in the morning. After all, the last thing you are going to want to do is rummage through 20 boxes looking for their pyjamas.

I like your tip which is not leaving your children completely out of the moving process. Although, and as you mentioned, children can try to help but it often results in stress, it’s a good idea to give them something to do which keeps them busy, lets you do your thing, and makes them feel like they’re included!
