PUT THE SUPER INTO MOM BY PUSHING FOR DIAGNOSIS

Anyone who doesn’t believe moms have superpowers is wrong. The moment your children come into your life, your senses get stronger than they’ve ever been. You spot accidents before they happen. And, to top it all, you can read those little minds. If that’s not Wonder Woman stuff then what is?

Amid your many skills is an ability to spot the moment your children aren’t well. You know them so well that even a slight sniffle will come to your attention within seconds. If they aren’t sleeping, you’ll know about it before you see the bags under their eyes. If they aren’t eating, you won’t need to see their untouched meals to spot it. What can we say; us moms just know these things.

The chances are that you’ll rush your kids to see a doctor as soon as physically possible in instances like this. Mom knows best and, while you can’t put your finger on it, you know things aren’t right. Yet, the doctor takes one look and says there’s nothing wrong.

We’ve all been there, and it can be frustrating. Not to mention that, the longer it takes to get a diagnosis, the worse it could be for your child. But, you’re Supermom, and we believe in your powers of deduction. That’s why we have some pointers to help you defeat the big bad doctor.

Get a second opinion

Despite what you might think ‘getting a second opinion doesn’t only happen in films. In reality, you’re well within your rights to take your child to another doctor. Using the money you gained above, find someone who specializes in children’s medicine. They could do more thorough testing than your doctor seems willing to do. Don’t settle for an untested diagnosis when you know it doesn’t feel right. Simply get someone else on board who’s more willing to listen to you.

Don’t give up

No superhero gives up the fight. That’s what makes them super. And, your determination is why you deserve this accolade. Put it to good use here by keeping up the fight, even if a second opinion reaps no results. If you’re still convinced your child isn’t well, you need to keep fighting that fight. Keep booking in with new doctors, or returning to the old ones. Though it shouldn’t be the case, pushing your point can be the only way to reach a diagnosis. So, get ready for a long ride, and start annoying those doctors!
