February is here and almost everyone is planning for Valentine’s day or probably have their plans already. This moment is most special when spent with a loved one. You maybe spending your day alone and don’t have any plans yet. The fact that you are single doesn’t mean this day shouldn’t be special to you. Appreciate that you are single and have fun.
Here are 5 awesome things you do if you are spending Valentine’s day alone;
Go watch a movie:
Because this day is going to be a busy one, there are a lot of cinemas to visit if you want to watch a movie. Get your tickets on time because this day, will be a busy day. Who knows, there might be single people around too, you may meet your significant other. Or better still, settle for a Netflix movie and make dinner at home.
Have a singles’ day party:
As people are enjoying Valentine’s day with their partners, you can have a singles’ day party with your single friends. Invite them over to the house and plan fun packed activities that will keep you busy for the day. Plan having a cooking competition. You can divide yourselves into groups and cook your favourites or a food you don’t know how to cook, get the recipes online and make it fun. Some activities like pick and act, dancing or singing battles can make the day more fun. Take lovely pictures and post on your social media handles as those in love will be doing. At least you had a great day too.
Buy yourself something nice:
Spending this day alone doesn’t mean you don’t have to buy something for yourself, you deserve a gift too. Get yourself some nice chocolates, a dress, shoe or bag. Remember to always appreciate that you are single. You can exchange gifts with your single friends too and make this day more fun. Rather than being locked up in the room feeling bored, you deserve something nice too.
Give a helping hand:
In this season, people only focus on their relationships but you can spend this day in different way to help a fellow in need. February is a month love, not the month to share love with your significant other only. But also share love with those in need. Instead paying for those expensive movie tickets and dinner at a restaurant, you can help put a smile on someone’s face even with the little you have or none. You can visit orphanage homes and donate some items to them or help them tidy up the place, tell them a story or visit a hospital to donate blood to save a life. Or it could be emotional support, talk to someone and you help them to overcome the things they are depressed with.
Go see the family:
You might be away from the family because of work and haven’t been able to check up on them for a long time. This is the right time, family is everything! Buy some chocolates for your nieces and nephews or other siblings you haven’t seen or heard from. You can go there and make dinner for the family and share how life has been when you were away from home. You can take pictures too – You will be having some nice time with the family as others share their love with their significant other.
